Hi! My name is Stephanie. I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia, working toward my degree in Dietetics so I can become a Registered Dietitian in the near future.
The mission of this blog is to offer healthy recipes and practical nutrition tips to help people achieve and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle.
I didn’t always have an harmonious relationship with food. When I was in high school, it was more of a love and hate relationship. Instead of enjoying food that I wanted, I struggled with different short-term diets and restricted myself from eating “bad” food. I was never truly happy until I slowly transformed my approach from dieting to healthy eating. It is really through my own struggles with food that I truly see the need to engage in healthy eating. It is the most simple, effective and enjoyable way to connect with food.
Learning to cook has been one of the best tools in getting me to eat better. Cooking my own food gives me much greater control over what I eat. I like to tryout new recipes and play with different food combinations. I also enjoy tweaking recipes to make them more nourishing without sacrificing flavour. Not all my cooking episodes go well, but for the successful creations, I love to share them with the whole world and shout to everyone that they, too, can easily make delicious and nutritious food!
Learning to embrace healthy eating and a well-balanced lifestyle has been the greatest gift that I have given to myself, and now I’ll like extend that gift offer to you. Treat yourself to healthy eating! You deserve it!
